Job Summary

Responsibilities
· Performs routine laboratory procedures recognizing deviation from expected results. · Analyzes and corrects problems with the assistance of more senior personnel. · Performs Quality Control and calibrations on instruments. · Performs weekly preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment. · Accessions samples for in-house testing and referral laboratory testing. · Secures media and supplies for clinical testing or research studies and manages supply requests. · Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies. · Performs all other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications
· Excellent customer service for both internal and external customers. · Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology, and use of complex medical equipment. · Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). · Excellent written and oral communication skills. · Ability to work in a Laboratory Information System. · Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. · Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. EDUCATION: · Bachelor's degree in related field required. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION: · Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or equivalent within 2 years of hire. |
