Performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams on research participants. Responsible for the independent operations of sonography equipment and communicating results of diagnostic and research examinations using sonography.
1. Review, train, and coach junior level Sonographers with all processes and procedures. 2. Evaluates, synthesizes, and communicates diagnostic and research information to the physician. 3. Performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams according to established guidelines. 4. Performs high quality echocardiographic exams and collaborates with the cardiology staff to make accurate diagnoses of complex congenital and acquired pediatric heart abnormalities. 5. Provides preliminary reports for diagnostic assessments to physicians. 6. Provides optimal service to patients while respecting and demonstrating patient confidentiality. 7. Assists with research activities by collecting data and participating in research projects. 8. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations. Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information. Detail oriented with meticulous planning and organizational skills while balancing multiple priorities. Ability to demonstrate a positive demeanor and respond to questions in a timely and respectful manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
